Exactly 15 years ago today I joined YGOO. The 23rd of November, 2003. Good times.

However, the original software was 3.0.8 if I remember correctly

Even older than that! Check it out - 2.3.2. As you can see, I've tried to base this forum's look on that and gotten about as close as I can within the confines of this software. I always disliked the look of the site after mfacer upgraded it (and we lost a bunch of features at the time too like user pages). Of course, I remember the site got 'hacked' at one point because he rarely updated it or something and someone took over, that was an interesting time.

Thanks, very generous of you. I might do but this forum is just a sort of memorial to YGOO, not like it's ever going to have an active population or anything so the software doesn't matter too much. But yeah the bots are a bit annoying so that part of it would be useful.

You're a good bot, could probably pass the turing test.

^ Will Mark ever stop saying the old one was too big?

I'm good. Never played Grim Fandango but I've been wanting to find some good adventure games to play, maybe I should finally give it a go. Been playing MTG over Magic Arena, it's pretty good but it'll never compare to playing YVD with everyone here back in the day!

Hey, I used to use this site over a decade ago... I just don't remember what username I used back then. On a mere whim I did a google search for this sites url just out of pure nastalgia and much to my surprise the site is back online. I never expected that in a million years. Poor choice on forum software but I'm glad the site is back. tongue

Hi! Any hints on who you were? I bet I can remember your username!

As for the software, yeah... ideally it'd be an old version of vbulletin like it used to be back in the day.

^ Has the most posts on this forum. If Dragon's Malice were here he'd probably have the most. I remember he had the most back in the day, like 10,000 or something.

How've you been doing Marik? I wonder if any other members will ever find this place.

Either really. Struggling to find any goodies. What are your favourites?

In the beginning, exactly 15 years ago in June 2003, Mfacer created the Main forum and the Matts Test forum. Now the forum was forumless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Clarke was hovering over the waters. And Mfacer said, “Let there be an introductions and general forum,” and there was an introductions and general forum. Mfacer saw that the introductions and general forums were good, and he separated the introductions from the general. Mfacer called the introductions "Welcome!" and the general he called "General Chat."

And Mfacer said, “Let there be a vault between the forums to separate questions from general chat.” So Mfacer made the vault and separated the questions under the vault from the General Chat above it. And it was so. Mfacer called the vault “Questions and Answers.”

Holy nostalgia, Batman. Did a random search for this site and found that someone else had remade it. I'm sure none of y'all remember me. I was definitely Seto-Kaiba (occasionally referred to as S-K on the forums).  I was around from 2003 until probably 2005-ish, I can't remember. But I definitely remember all of you guys. I may have been a mod at some point? I really can't remember. But I do remember that Gemini Ty and I had a pretty good friendship back in the day. Talked on AIM all the time. Some of those usernames also ring a bell. Anyways, I knew I just had to register and say hello.

Whoops, super late to this, didn't see this until now. Yeah man you were definitely a moderator. A super moderator, even, I believe.

I may or may not have made a minor error that made it impossible to post anything for the past week or two. My bad. Hey, I'm still better than mfacer who wouldn't even come on for months at a time!

Thanks to SKaiba for helping to fix it.

#23 Re: SPAM » Randomizzle » 2018-03-10 14:00:26

Yeah I've got 2 rats and a turtle, it's pretty much teenage mutant ninja turtles over here. I love dogs too so I've been doing a lot of thinking about that recently and I just paid the deposit on a puppy I'll be picking up next month. What breed do you think you'd get? Initially I wanted a Golden Retriever or a Labrador but I'm mildly allergic to dog hair/dander so in the end I decided to go with a Poodle which doesn't shed at all. It has a reputation as a frou frou dog but was actually bred to be a hunting dog and you don't NEED to cut them in the stereotypical way, so yeah I'm looking forward to that although training a puppy is going to be a nightmare.

Yeah same. Maybe you can contact him in a more sensible way than I did at some point.

Do you have any pets?
